Artwork Description

I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT MORE PRADA is an original contemporary acrylic painting combining dark humour, luxury culture and the ultimate reminder that none of us gets out alive.

Three skeletons reflect on the things that apparently mattered most: “I should have bought more Prada”, “You had the Gucci”, and “I sold my Rolex.”

Playful rather than morbid, the work pokes fun at status, fashion, money and our obsession with owning the right things while we still can. The contrast between skeleton imagery and instantly recognisable references to Prada, Gucci and Rolex gives the painting a bold pop-art sensibility with a distinctly contemporary sense of humour.

Painted by hand in acrylic on canvas, this large 80 × 100 cm work is designed to become a conversation piece — equally at home in a contemporary living room, eclectic interior, office, bar or art collection.
