Artwork Description

This work is a map - the topography of the Overland Track in Tasmania. Dove lake in the north (top), to Lake St Clair in the south (bottom). It's a place I've spent a lof of time in, and introduced many people to as a guide.

It's blue, because Tasmania is so often known as the green island - so why not a blue variant! It is also a cartographic exercise in how to highlight features in the landscape.

Artist Bio

I'm always drawn to the mountains, rivers, forests and seas.

Professionally my life has focussed on measuring and mapping parts of the world, so I have a love of cartographic visualisation and geospatial data art. I've also had the privilege of exploring some unique parts of our planet with a camera in hand, and sometimes, well, it's just time to put paint and pen to paper, or play with digital illustration.
