Artwork Description

Waves is an exploration of colour and luscious thick textures. An intuitive piece that evolved naturally with a limited colour palette.

The colour blue represents both the sky and the sea and is associated with open spaces, freedom, intuition, imagination, inspiration, and sensitivity. Blue also represents meanings of depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, and intelligence.

Artist Bio

From a very young age, other kids would ask me to draw things for their class projects. Drawing was something I found naturally easy. From here my love for all things creative grew.

After school finished I studied Fine Arts for 1 year where I was exposed to beautiful crafts including photography, life drawing, lino cut, etching, sculpting as well as painting.

However, through all this, I found myself drawn to the structured world of Graphic Design. I studied and worked as a Graphic Designer working my way up to Art Director and Creative Director for various companies over the last 30 years, but my love for painting never left me. In fact, the need to paint only become stronger and stronger.

I started to explore my artistic style, and with a sense of spiritual guidance and inner calm, I found a freedom in intuitively painting different landscape scenes both from images and from my minds eye.

'I make art because it allows me to express myself. It gives me a sense of freedom. I want my art to inspire others, to bring happiness to all who see it and to inspire others to do the same.'
