Artwork Description

Sunset from the Tracks shows a beautiful, colourful sunset across the hills near Gembrook, Victoria. The train track in the foreground shows the dimming light of the sun reflecting on them.
The sky is a mixture of beautiful pinks, blues, purples and soft golden yellows that streams down through the trees and onto the landscape!
It has a lot of feeling, warmth and movement and would ad drama to a home with walls of a darker neutral colour.
The canvas is cotton duck and painted with Windsor and Newton oils. It is varnished with damar to seal it and help the colours pop.
All my paintings are sent with a certificate of authenticity.

Artist Bio

Adie Bergen is an artist based in Gembrook in the Dandenong Ranges, Australia. She discovered a love of drawing from a young age, drawing on anything with paper in it, including her dad's business files! In high school she realised a love for painting in oils on canvas.

After high school in 1994 she studied Fine Arts at the University of Ballarat, majoring in painting under Doug Wright. From there, after a stint in hospitality and teaching at primary schools, she moved to Melbourne and studied painting at Montsalvat under David Moore.

Moving to the Dandenong Ranges in 2006 she wanted to push her painting skills further and became a member and student at the Sherbrooke Art Society Gallery in Belgrave. She studied under the tonal artist Jeffrey Murphy, who has been a great influence and mentor for Adie over 14 years. She has flourished under his guidance using the tonal technique.

Adie has since settled in Gembrook where she paints in her studio. She mainly works with oils but is also accomplished in pastel, pencil and water colours. Her art has mainly been traditional in style but she has been pushing in different directions, mainly due to her interest and love of colourist art and 20th century Ukranian realism and abstract art.
