Through my work I attempt to manifest my exploration of nature. Integrating subject matter pragmatically and realistically, I enjoy adapting anthropocentric concepts of family, food and the body with elements of nature. The husk of a coconut meets the convoluted structure of the brain, a wood nymph’s hair transitions into sticks and vines, the weathered wood of a temple separates my family from the weathering elements, these juxtapositions help to establish the human’s connection with the earth. I see my striving to create these forms as a meditation, to create timelessness and to most of all, bring joy.
