I've drawn all my life, since I was little I've been fascinated with nature, plants and the ocean. So nature and the natural landscape has always been a huge focal point and a place of comfort. Growing up in rugged Nordfriesland the most Northern region of 'country' Germany, a hop and a skip to Denmark - these things were abundant.
Emerged in a sparse landscape with rolling tides, powerful storms and grey skies. This is something that I feel is one of the driving forces in my creative journey.
When I was in my early twenties I migrated to Australia. Long sandy beaches, more ocean and blue skies (yay). An abundance of wildlife and lush forests as well as also a real harshness in climate and weather conditions. Such extremes.
My other favourite theme in my creative journey is the female body. I tend do a lot of pensive women stuff and empowerment pieces. I love to show the strength that flows out of stillness.
I'm married to a lovely Aussie bloke, with one child and have been a designer for close to twenty years.
I do watercolour, ink washes, ink pens and acrylic mostly - but really love experimenting in blending techniques. My topics are almost always nature-based. I love a good curve, Straight lines are not my thing.
So there.
