Artwork Description

Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

Untitled No.14, 2017

'Ray' was created for exhibition in my first solo show, titled 'Surfaces', at FortyFive Downstairs Gallery in Melbourne. This collection of work explores materiality within abstraction. Paint is applied using a palette knife, creating texture and intensity through both applying and scraping back, creating the vibrant textural and layered effect that is emblematic of the collection. The work aims to lay bear the energetic process and physical action of painting, whilst allowing the visual outcomes of each piece to simply 'be'.

Painting Signed on top edge.
