Artist Bio

Ali Reza Moeinian, known in the art world as Al Remo, is a fine artist with a touch of filmmaking in his portfolio. Born on September 21, 1980, in Tehran, Al Remo's passion for art was evident from a young age. He nurtured his talents through formal education, completing a Diploma in Fine Arts and Cinematography in Tehran before relocating to Auckland, New Zealand.

In Auckland, Al Remo focused his energies on painting. His artworks are celebrated for their heartfelt depth and masterful brushwork. His use of colour and light brings a sense of immediacy and connection to his pieces, and his subjects are rendered with an honesty that speaks to the viewer.

Al Remo's painting style is characterized by spontaneity and directness, with a subtle, well-developed sense of craftsmanship. His works, often centred around portraiture and domestic scenes, have an accessible charm, balancing between the evocative and the playful. He draws inspiration from various sources, including the works of John Singer Sargent and Norman Rockwell. However, Al Remo's art is distinctly his own, forged through years of exploration and dedication.

While painting remains at the core of his creative expression, Al Remo also dabbled in filmmaking. He has produced a few short films and worked on a feature film, always with an artistic lens, but it's in the realm of painting where his true passion lies.

Thematically, Al Remo often explores ideas associated with domesticity and interior spaces. His art conveys the richness of everyday life and the inner worlds of the characters he portrays. The subtlety in his brush strokes and the luminosity in his palette create a sense of movement and light that is captivating.

In his journey, Al Remo has also engaged in a few entrepreneurial ventures, but these play a secondary role compared to his dedication to the arts.

Today, based in Sydney, Australia, Al Remo continues to produce art that resonates. His work has been exhibited in various galleries and is held in private collections. Through his paintings, Al Remo invites viewers into a world of emotion, colour, and light.
