I am a contemporary artist, currently based in Byron Bay, NSW. I come from a large family; I was born in the small island nation of Mauritius. Each of my siblings can also draw, paint or design which shows the depth of the family’s talents. I am influenced by my musical derivatives; I have been a performing world music bass player of long standing.
As an artist, have an eclectic style. I’m able to draw on what moves me – I am connected to land and people, my artworks with their vibrant abstract themes capture the essence and atmosphere of landscape and seascapes. My works juxtapose harmonious colours with bold composition. I also have a great love of portraitures, I won numerous works-based portrait competitions judged by the National Art School, Sydney
In my career I have had two solo exhibitions in 2000-2004.
In 2023, I was in two groups exhibition at Gallery 3, Byron Bay and at Seed gallery, Byron Bay
Self-taught, I use art as a means of self-expression and to balance the mind and body. My historic influences are from the great Impressionist masters, however my unique works have evolved and are fluid reflections of my environment.
