Artwork Description

Song of the Tide, by Alanah Jarvis
This painting captures the gentle rise and fall of the ocean’s surface in a serene dance of deep blues and soft silvers. Each wave is rendered with a silky fluidity, evoking the calm joy of watching the sea stretch endlessly before you. This piece celebrates the timeless beauty of water in motion, a reminder of quiet moments spent near the shore, where the world slows and the heart feels light.
Its soothing palette and flowing form make it a perfect companion for spaces seeking peace, lightness and a touch of coastal nostalgia.

This canvas is placed on Sustainable Canvas, made from 100% recycled plastic bottles to keep this plastic out of the environment or landfill. The canvas resists mould and won't sag on stretcher bars over time as it doesn’t expand and contract like other fibre canvases. Its ready to be passed down for generations.

Artist Bio

Alanah Jarvis is an Australian artist whose Abstract Weathered Series explores the raw beauty of nature shaped by time. Her richly textured paintings are inspired by the surfaces of the earth and landscapes shaped by wind and water. Through layering and erosion-like techniques, Alanah captures the quiet power of weathered materials, transforming natural imperfections into striking visual stories. These works bring depth, character and a grounded, organic presence into the home.

Each piece reflects a fascination with the marks time leaves behind, the way colour fades, textures shift and surfaces tell silent stories. With earthy palettes and tactile surfaces, Alanah’s paintings create a sense of place, something enduring, elemental and beautifully imperfect. Her art complements modern spaces with natural warmth, drawing people in to look closer, feel more and connect to the world around them.

Alongside this body of work, Alanah also paints her Realistic Ocean Series. Seascapes that capture the expansive light and movement of the coastline. These oil paintings reflect her love of the ocean’s shifting moods and timeless beauty, bringing a sense of space, breath and natural energy into any setting.
