Artwork Description

'GoldYen 2' By Alejandra Sieder.

Introducing the captivating painting from my series of three, crafted with intricate strokes of gold ink and oil, which embodies the profound concept of seeking enlightenment through the pursuit of passion and embracing the journey.
In this mesmerising artwork, the canvas comes alive with vibrant hues and dynamic brushwork, symbolising the various paths individuals can embark upon to achieve enlightenment. Each stroke represents a unique aspect of the journey, reflecting the diverse experiences and emotions encountered along the way.
The use of radiant gold ink brings a touch of ethereal beauty, signifying the transformative power that lies within. It serves as a reminder that the pursuit of our passions and goals can lead us to a higher state of consciousness and fulfilment.

Through this artwork, I aim to inspire viewers to embrace their true passions, to immerse themselves in the process, and to find joy in every step of the journey. It encourages us to cherish the present moment, recognising that enlightenment is not merely a destination but rather a continuous evolution of self-discovery and growth.
As the colours dance harmoniously across the paper, the painting invites contemplation, urging viewers to reflect on their own path towards enlightenment. It serves as a visual reminder that by aligning our actions with our passions, we can create a life of purpose and find profound fulfilment in the pursuit of our dreams.

“GoldYen 2” serves as a beacon of inspiration, reminding us to infuse our lives with passion, to embrace the challenges, and savour every moment on our quest for self-realisation. Let this artwork be a guide on your own transformative journey, as you embrace the joy and enlightenment that awaits.

Artist Bio

Alejandra Sieder is a Venezuelan-born, Australian and Spanish contemporary artist based in Sydney. Trained in Graphic Design at the Hans Neumann Design Institute in Caracas, her visual language was shaped by the legacy of Latin American masters Jesús Soto and Carlos Cruz-Diez, whose work taught her that art is not simply observed—it is experienced.

Having lived in Venezuela, Spain, Norway and Australia, Sieder draws from contrasting landscapes, cultures and emotional experiences. Her practice moves between geometric precision and organic expression, exploring perception, memory, movement and transformation. Through layered textures, monochromatic structures, expressive gestures and light-reactive pigments, she creates abstract works that shift with their environment and invite a personal emotional response.

Her recent Australian exhibitions include Affordable Art Fair Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Internationally, her work has been presented at Affordable Art Fair Berlin, Austin and Hong Kong, as well as Spectrum Miami, where she received the Best International Exhibitor Award in 2024.

Sieder was a finalist in the 2025 OMNIA Art Prize in Melbourne and has received multiple finalist selections associated with the Lethbridge Art Prize. Her work has also been exhibited in Singapore, London, Edinburgh, Madrid and Norway and is held in private collections internationally.

Each painting is conceived as an emotional map—a meeting point between structure and intuition, stillness and movement, the visible world and the inner landscape.
