Artwork Description

No one is completely mentally healthy. Life’s chaos is precipitated by mental processes.

My artwork is an exploration of consciousness and mental processes. Each work demonstrates a different operation of the mind. Some are darker, like the airless feeling of a panic attack, and some lighter, like the emotion of hope and fulfillment.
Since childhood, I have been focused on analyzing human behavior and I have come to realize that people often do not have the help they need. I have been fascinated by the theoretical limits of the human condition. What starts out as vision soon becomes manipulated into a dialectic of distress, leaving only a sense of chaos and the likelihood of a new beginning. They might find themselves in a dark hole, but there is always light when one surrenders to this darkness. This action holds the possibility of transcendence.

The pieces of art I make start as inspirations based on an initial concept. The world around me is my most direct inspiration. It may be the visual of someplace. A printed word. A phrase heard. A person. All the information my senses receive is like seeds that propel and creates my magic.
Then I play with sketches on paper and feel how I want to express it on the physical plane. All my artworks are the result of an idea that is born internally in my soul and then it is materialised in every stroke of my hands.
After that, I analyze which materials I want to use to express my thought. And there begins the process of collecting paints, canvases, brushes and all mediums that I need to use.
Finally, I let my soul expand through the surface and I flow with the process.

My aim in those paintings is for these works to connect. I want people to realize that everything starts inside their own thoughts and minds.

BIO
Alejandra is a Venezuelan-Spanish contemporary painter, who has been developing her artist’s skills since she was 15 years old. She studied Graphic Design and Art and she graduated with class honours from the Miguel Neumann Design Institute in Venezuela. Alejandra is more than a talented artist. She is well known for her ability to magically combine different art styles and media into works of fine art of exquisite beauty. All her artwork is an exploration of consciousness and mental processes. Each work demonstrates a different operation of the mind.
Alejandra’s work stands out due to three essential features: Color, Spirituality, and Symbolism. All of them created with the purpose to invite the spectator to recognize themselves in the images and be open to the possibility of moving beyond resisting discomfort to a place of surrender.

Alejandra is currently residing in Sydney. After one year since she arrived from Norway with her family, she was selected as a finalist in the Contemporary Art Prize 2017. Artist Bio

Alejandra Sieder is a Venezuelan-born, Australian and Spanish contemporary artist based in Sydney. Trained in Graphic Design at the Hans Neumann Design Institute in Caracas, her visual language was shaped by the legacy of Latin American masters Jesús Soto and Carlos Cruz-Diez, whose work taught her that art is not simply observed—it is experienced.

Having lived in Venezuela, Spain, Norway and Australia, Sieder draws from contrasting landscapes, cultures and emotional experiences. Her practice moves between geometric precision and organic expression, exploring perception, memory, movement and transformation. Through layered textures, monochromatic structures, expressive gestures and light-reactive pigments, she creates abstract works that shift with their environment and invite a personal emotional response.

Her recent Australian exhibitions include Affordable Art Fair Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Internationally, her work has been presented at Affordable Art Fair Berlin, Austin and Hong Kong, as well as Spectrum Miami, where she received the Best International Exhibitor Award in 2024.

Sieder was a finalist in the 2025 OMNIA Art Prize in Melbourne and has received multiple finalist selections associated with the Lethbridge Art Prize. Her work has also been exhibited in Singapore, London, Edinburgh, Madrid and Norway and is held in private collections internationally.

Each painting is conceived as an emotional map—a meeting point between structure and intuition, stillness and movement, the visible world and the inner landscape.
