Artwork Description

Influenced by the nautical theme in many of my paintings..This one depicts that feeling relief of entering port after a long dangerous journey on the seas and the feeling of excitement that a new 'port of call' beckons as is captured by the view of the new city port on the horizon.

Please note that the frame is part of the artwork itself as I wanted to have this whole piece be self reliant, to reflect the same motif when out at sea.

Artist Bio

Hello there, thanks for stopping by!

A bit about myself...

I started my art journey as a child as my mother is an artist, so growing up I spent a lot of time visiting art galleries, studios and art workshops. I used to get involved and paint some abstract pieces which I enjoyed as way of unwinding and process the events of the day.

Fast forward to my mid twenties and I felt drawn to paint again (no pun intended) and have been on the journey since then, practising regularly. Making art doesn't laways come easely (pun intended ), however with the right inspiration and desire, I have been painting the way I see and want to see the world in an abstract, somewhat naive style.

I don't always manage to paint what I intended but you just have to brush it off and keep going! With social media in this day and age, it is very easy to have access to other artists works, past and present, so there is never a shortage of inspiration material and content.

Anyway , I hope you enjoy my art pieces and if you have ay questions, please reach out!
