Light, energy, emotion - I am interested in visual perception and visual sensation. Abstract paintings translate lived experience into visual experience. Form is often dictated by the physical actions of making the painting, the texture of the paint dictating how it can be manipulated and how it lies on the support. Brushstrokes are kept loose and immediate, stray marks are often left unedited. Colour and colour placement is used to explore light and energy, a perpetual artistic journey.
