I’m continually drawn back to painting beautiful proteas! Such a unique flower, with so many gorgeous variations.
This original artwork is created with PanPastels - these are soft pastels compressed in a round flat pan, which you apply entirely with special shaped sponges. They are wonderful to work with, and are very versatile. I pair them with Pastelmat, which is a thick paper with a special coating which allows for multiple layers of pigment, resulting in a velvety, vibrant finish.
Ready to fit into a standard sized frame, the artwork area is 46 x 61cm with a 1.5cm extra border for matting.
PanPastel work does need to be framed behind glass. I recommend a thick mat like the example picture, and highly recommend Bluethumb's framing services.
Artwork will be packaged with a layer of glassine paper to protect the pastel surface, and shipped rolled in a mailing tube.
