Artist Bio

A life long lover of the Australian bush and now raising my children out here.
Inspired by the massive divide in WA, the lush green of the Kimberleys is where I work 6 months of the year, and the dry, burnt reds, yellows and deep browns of the Goldfields, where I live with my children.
I have always created and painted for me & now I have a bit more time on my hands and my children are older, I want to explore the options of making art and having the world share it with me. My children tell me I am amazing, so that's really the only review I will ever need.

Born in Wellington NZ, moved to Perth, WA as a toddler, grew up in Hovea WA, then moved around WA and Sydney for a brief stint in 1997, before settling in Westminster.
Moved to NZ as an older teenager and stayed until I was 24. I was especially inspired by the kiwiana aspect of the artwork being created & the local feel of everything being promotoed in the cities. Every town in NZ has local artists and local galleries or cafes displaying their art and it was embraced in ways I had never seen in Perth.
It felt like the new zealand peoples in their areas were more comfortable with their identity and more in tune with what made them different.

I moved to kalgoorlie-boulder in 2010 and have seen art galleries open and close, the uptake and the inspiration out here is directly linked to how much money mining is bringing in.
I would love to change that, and my dream would be to paint full time, teach and have a space for people to come and create that was self funded. I feel like all communities need that kind of space, but having the ability to provide that space is the hard part.
I adore living out here and I wouldn't change it for the world. Having a job I can do from anywhere means I can travel and create from whatever inspires me, and Western Australia I find, is incredibly beautiful.
