Aleksandra Kostic D is an Australian South East European artist with a strong classical art education. She was born in Belgrade, Serbia (ex-Yugoslavia) in 1970. She has been living and working in Australia since 2012. Aleksandra completed bachelor's and master’s degrees in the Faculty of Fine Arts on the University of Arts in Belgrade. She works across several mediums, including installation, painting, drawing, video, and mixed mediums. Since 1994, she has exhibited her work regularly. Her works explore a range of ideas about women's emotional inner life. She involved spiritual content in her artworks, like our divine relationship with sacred geometry in nature and our ways of knowing and perceiving. Aleksandra is an expressive artist. She works directly with her mediums without any preview. Her expressionistic approach to the work describes her as an intuitive artist willing to expose her creative energy directly.
