Artwork Description

RUTJUPMA AT DAWN is one of a series of landscapes taken during a trek through West MacDonnell National Park on the Larapinta trail.

Shot at dawn, this image defies the sunburnt, heat ravaged, harsh, masculine Australian outback depicted in films. Instead, this dawn light is reminiscent of Albert Namatjira's famous watercolour works in and around the Tjoritja National Park.
