Artwork Description

Original artwork by Alexandra Plim. Painted October 2018, Sydney. Signed.

"This work Cook's River Idyll reflects on my experience growing up in Marrickville. We spent many afternoons riding our bikes along the path, playing cricket, going on 'bush walks', and finding odd things washed up along the river (that we probably shouldn't be touching). When we visit the river now, I see how much work has been put into it's regeneration and the adjoining public walkways and parks. I look forward to sharing this place more, with my own kids, when they can be trusted not to ride their bikes into the river by accident. "
