Artwork Description

“Warmth of Woman” explores the beauty, softness, and energy of the female body. By focusing on the form and leaving the face undefined, I emphasise the body’s curves, posture, and presence, capturing the warmth and life that radiates naturally from the figure. Using bold colours, fine detail, and high-quality Golden acrylics and Matisse paints, I bring out the textures, light, and movement that give the body its sense of vitality, strength, and quiet sensuality. This piece celebrates the female form as it is, full of warmth, character, and expression.

Artist Bio

I’m Alexandra Watts, an emerging artist based in Adelaide. I create contemporary, abstract pieces that focus on mood, emotion and the small moments that shape how we feel. My work brings together bold colours, clean lines and fine detail to create scenes that feel expressive, intimate and a little bit dreamlike. I like capturing gestures and feelings rather than perfect realism, so each piece has space for people to see their own story in it.

I work mainly with Golden and Matisse acrylics on large canvas. I paint slowly and intentionally, building layered colour, subtle texture and detailed linework that gives each artwork its own energy. My style might look minimal from a distance, but up close there’s a lot of depth and detail woven through the abstract shapes and silhouettes.

I’m also a Registered Nurse, and that definitely shapes the way I view people and emotion. It’s part of what draws me to painting quiet moments and strong feelings.

I’m still early in my art journey, but I’m passionate about growing, experimenting and creating work that feels meaningful. My goal is to make art that stands out, feels honest, and brings colour and emotion into modern spaces.
