Artwork Description

Composed on A4 300gsm paper, this abstract piece evokes seed structures, floral dispersal, and architectural decay. The layered texture and subdued palette offer a sense of emerging growth, residual motion, and quiet transformation. Ambiguous and symbolic, Bract invites reflection on systems—both natural and constructed—that shape life’s smallest forms. Bract is the first painting in the 'Segments' paintings series.

Artist Bio

I draw inspiration from the beauty of nature and the limitless potential of discovering beauty in the ordinary of everyday.

My work focuses on familiar botanical subjects—orchids, leaves, and garden forms—reinterpreted through saturated colour and simplified shapes. I am interested in the tension between softness and intensity, often placing light, delicate forms against deep, warm grounds.

Working from a home studio, I build paintings in layers, allowing colour relationships to guide the final composition.
