Artwork Description

A painting in thw Tempest series of expressive works. living at the beach i experience a lot of storms over the ocean, the way the light at sunrise interacts with the clouds is a great source of inspiration for this work. recently i have been using these paintings as a way of channeling emotion and expression into my work. The expressive aspect of painting a cloud really comes out as an emotional experience when contrasting aggressive and soft application of media.
laying down layers of pastel, thick acrylic and pencil strokes to build up a nuanced surface that brings energy to any room.
