Artwork Description

"Interwoven Dualities" is a diptych that explores the interplay of scale, structure, and color through the lens of truchet tiles. The top panel features a 9x9 grid, where each tile contains 3 lines, creating a more open and airy composition. Below it, the second panel presents a 3x3 grid with 9 lines per tile, evoking a sense of density and complexity. The use of pink and blue across both grids symbolizes the blending of traditionally opposing forces—softness with strength, calm with intensity. Together, these two panels engage in a dialogue about balance, contrast, and the interconnectedness of seemingly disparate elements.

Artist Bio

As someone who inhabits a unique inter-sectional identity (queer, gay, refugee, immigrant, poc, multilingual, etc), I am fascinated in what makes us US.

What are the individual facets of our identity and how these are translated into the stories we tell.
You see, identity isn't a single thing, but rather all the little things that contribute to an individual self.
Who are your role models in life? Which socio-political ideologies do you live by?
Or something as simple as what is your favorite pizza topping?

My images explore these ideas through a uniquely clean and controlled approach to artistic practice.
I always aim to create simple, yet impactful, images.
