Overlay No 2

Overlay No. 2 (Yellow / Magenta Moiré) explores the tension between human gesture and machine precision. The initial hand-drawn squiggle lines were created in Illustrator, then expanded through an algorithmic process that generated a secondary set of curves. These two line systems were plotted separately in yellow and magenta ink, producing an intricate moiré pattern where the marks overlap.

The result is a shimmering field of vibration — part digital, part handmade — that shifts with the viewer’s movement. Drawn on heavyweight archival paper and left unframed, the work sits comfortably between drawing, print, and code: a study in how analog imperfection and algorithmic order can coexist beautifully.
