Alice Louise | Studio ALVC
Alice Louise is an emerging Irish Abstract Artist living in Melbourne. She is known for painting with a Furi bread knife, coffee and acrylic. Each art piece created has an accompanying quatrain poem adding an extra layer to the viewer's experience.
Growing up painting landscapes with watercolour, it was only upon moving to Melbourne in 2018 she cemented her Abstract Art practice.
Her background as a yoga teacher and fashion stylist have shaped her works.
Yoga has given her an embodied understanding of movement, and presence, while fashion has developed her instinct for colour, texture, composition and visual balance.
These influences can be seen and felt in her works.
After having the opportunity to paint in Melbourne, Ireland and Portugal she founded STUDIO ALVC. An intentional energetic studio that she likes to tap into wherever she goes. She has exhibited in multiple group shows in Melbourne and had her first solo exhibition this year in 621 Artist space Brunswick St. She also completed her first 2 commissions in Europe this year.
She has an instinctual practice, where gesture and movement become a means of exploring emotion and connection. Her work explores themes of magnetic feminine energy, personal freedom and the inner child.
Alice Louise also holds abstract art workshops where the intention is to hold space for others to connect to their inner artist in a judgement free zone with total permission to be their authentic selves. While also teaching the basics.
