Candles

This work is apart of a new body of work called Shadows Shaped by Colour. It presents a stylized still life of four candles set against a deep black background, creating a strong sense of contrast and focus. The candles are rendered in cool tones—soft blues, purples, and hints of yellow—giving the piece a calm, slightly melancholic atmosphere. The tallest candle, partially melted with wax dripping down, becomes the focal point, suggesting the passage of time and quiet decay. 'Candles' is a tiny work with big attitude.

As a contemporary painter, I explore colour, light, and shadow through depictions of nature and everyday subjects. My work is often described as joyful, yet it emerges from deeply challenging personal experiences.

By reimagining subjects though my art practices I aim to distill essential forms while capturing emotional resonance.
