Artwork Description

This painting is a tree during wintertime done on an upwards angle. The picture is based on a tree that was on the property of my childhood home. A swing was connected to one of the branches and I would look upwards at the sky when I was playing on it, and I always thought that when the tree was bare it looked haunting yet beautiful somehow. I painted the tree ten years ago and it always gave me a sense of nostalgia when I thought about it. The blue starry sky contest well with the sharp tree branches and it was a joy to paint it. The painting is varnished, and I can get it framed if required.

Artist Bio

I always had the need to draw and paint ever since I could remember. I work mostly with acrylic paint but i also dabble with oil and watercolor. My work is mostly of subjects of the natural world such as landscapes and plants. I have set out to express my love of nature and to show it in a different perspective through art. I’ get my inspiration from eastern and western art, bright elaborate colors and whimsical subjects which are the main ideas I use in my work. I usually play around with an idea for a painting by doing several sketches a few weeks before I finally put it onto canvas. In between that time, I’m almost always sketching, doing watercolors and editing previous work. Painting gives me purpose and satisfaction that I hope people will enjoy.
