Alicia Kavanagh is a Perth-based abstract artist creating bold, expressive works using acrylic paint and oil sticks on canvas. A mother to two beautiful young boys and an early childhood teacher by profession, Alicia rediscovered her deep love for painting during maternity leave—and never looked back.
Over the past 4 years, what began as a creative outlet quickly grew into a fulfilling passion. Her large, statement-making pieces are not only a form of therapy and release, but also a way to stay connected to her identity beyond motherhood.
Alicia is endlessly grateful for the collectors and supporters who have embraced her work and helped turn her “habit” into a thriving creative journey. Each artwork is a reflection of the joy, chaos, and beauty that come with both motherhood and making art from the heart. She paints intuitively, creating works that reflect her emotions, special moments and experiences, and the nature around her. Alicia uses layers, upon layers, to promote and encourage the viewer to reflect on their own thoughts and feelings as they interact with the art. It brings Alicia immense joy when others connect with her work in their own way.
