Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This moth painting reflects on North American mythology of a moths connection to the spirit world. The moth is a Tropical Tiger Moth, Asota caricae. It has been painted over a vintage crime novel. This work was part of a series reworking older pieces or revisiting old techniques and mixing them with new ones. The original artwork is titled "Never Let The Light Go Out".

The original artwork was created by layering vintage book pages onto canvas and then painting the objects on top with acrylic paint.  I love to have multiple layers of meaning in my artworks and hide secret messages.
