Artwork Description

Inspired by a memory on an early Sunday morning in October. I was walking to my car and I could hear twitching amongst the bushes. Bright blue flashed in and out, and as I stood still long enough little blue fairy wrens kept flitting around. Jumping onto branches, flying up and down, moving to the ground and then back up to the bushes. I was entranced and inspired to capture them in artworks. This one is titled “The Beamers”.

This artwork has been painted with acrylic on canvas by Alicia Rogerson. Her art is bold, vibrant and often inspired by nature.

The canvas measures 25cm x 25cm x 4cm / 9.75 x 9.75 x 1.5 inches. It has d-rings, wire, clean edges and is ready to hang straight onto a wall.

Alicia Rogerson is a regional artist and illustrator that lives in Bridgetown, Western Australia. She creates her artwork within her studio that sits on a hill beside a forest.

Inspired by nature, objects and collections of things, her artworks are bold and created to inspire others. Themes of her works often reflect dreams and her childhood with a focus on the natural world. Her journey started in 2007 under the alter ego “Ali J”. She tried several careers but kept returning to her creative world. One day she shared her art online and has since embraced every opportunity that has come her way.

Her artworks are created by hand using traditional materials such as acrylic paint or watercolours and then transformed digitally. She is skilled in painting, drawing, pastels, collage and printmaking. She has been involved in public artworks, workshops, presentations, mentoring and is an active member of numerous creative organisations.

Her client list is extensive including Sony/BMG, Dolly Magazine and Hachette. She loves to create artwork beyond a wall extending it onto CD’s, magazines, newspapers, homewares, products, and fabric. She is passionate about creating artwork to be enjoyed by the everyday person.
