Artwork Description

This painting captures eight endemic birds and eight flora found in the South West region of Western Australia. As an artist local to Bridgetown, I find that everywhere I walk I see birds, forests and amazing scenes of overgrown greenery. This inspired me to paint this very busy scene full of life and colour.

The features from left to right include the Western Wattle Bird, Banksia, Snotty gobble, Black Throated Whipbird (Endangered), White Breasted Robin, Western Thornbill, Kingia australis, Hakea laurina, Cephalotus follicularis, Red Capped Parrot, Red Winged Fairywren, Western Bristlebird, Wattle and Baudin’s Cockatoo.

It has been painted with acrylic on wood with the painting wrapping around the edges of the wood. This gives it a clean look to sit on the wall without requiring framing. It measures 49cm x 69cm x 2cm and has been signed and dated. It comes ready to hang with D rings and wire.
