Dark Faun — Original Mythological Bust Sculpture

Dark Faun is an original hand-built bust sculpture reimagining the faun as an ancient, armoured being — far removed from the playful forest creature of classical mythology.
One violet eye peers through a painted mask marking; segmented horn armour curls around the skull; layered dark feathers cover the crown and back like ancestral plumage. A small wire ring hangs from the temple — the only delicate detail in an otherwise powerful presence. The figure was created entirely from original sketches, with no moulds and no reproductions.
Every element is hand-formed from air-dry clay: the overlapping feather layers, the segmented armour, the painted eye symbol. Mounted on a dark painted wood base.

Alisa Anderson is a visual artist based in Tampere, Finland. Her work moves between painting and sculptural forms, exploring human figures, symbolic imagery and emotional atmospheres.
