Artwork Description

Another work inspired by a particular Hundertwasser artwork of a similar name. This time I have completed a painting on canvas with oils as opposed to a work on paper which has also been available on this site. Perhaps this work will remind each of us to “sing” our own unique “song”. A bright colour palette has been used, suggesting a bird in a tree in a natural environment. Would be ideal in a child’s room or to brighten up a smallish space in another space of your home or office.

Artist Bio

Since studying visual art for the HSC in 1990 and being selected for the touring Artexpress exhibition, I have been making and exhibiting my art. I attended Meadowbank TAFE in Sydney in the mid 1990s where I was awarded a Diploma of Arts in Fine Arts. I have explored media such as textiles, photography, sculpture, printmaking and mosaics, but primarily paint in oils and draw in chalk pastels currently. My work is quite eclectic, with diverse subject matter and styles as I feel more challenged as an artist by changing styles from time to time and engaging with new ones. My most recent artistic obsession has been with abstracted landscapes, imagined, but based on my experiences of nature, especially in the Blue Mountains where I live.

NB. At times I have noticed terms such as “indigenous art” or “indigenous paintings” or similar, appear at the bottom of my individual artwork pages under “related tags”. I want to make it clear that I am not a First Nations artist, if anyone finds it misleading or confusing when viewing these tags. I was not responsible for including them, I think they may be AI generated. Just wanted to mention to avoid misleading anyone for whom purchasing an authentic indigenous artwork is important.
