Fiji is so alive and vibrant with colour as well as personality. It is infectious. All of this beauty that I experienced on my trip there in 2018, contrasted to the intention of my journey - which was to follow the story of my ancestor who was cannibalised there in 1867. The intense nature of that event was only made more confounding by the incredible beauty and graciousness I experienced in the people and the place.
