The Snowed Under series, otherwise known as my Icy Portraits, are about those times when you go into fight, flight or FREEZE and feel like you are barely surviving. I find them a little haunting, but also comforting. The ice (that typical macro detail for me) layered over the face becomes somewhere to be, to survive while I navigate my way to warmer times and recovery.
It's also about the feeling of being disappeared - by the opinion of others, the narrative you don't get to control. So I breathe under the weight of that and wait to find myself again, see myself again and live in my full strength and vitality.
