Artist Bio

Alta Putter was born in Tolwe in South Africa in 1957. Having grown up in the Bushfield her love of the outdoors grew tremendously. Throughout her life, Alta has always been fascinated by images and how the world is represented through the eyes of others. Naturally, she was drawn to paintings and expressing herself through her work. The interest was cultivated during her teenage years and further developed as life goes on.

After her mariage, Alta delved even more into her art practice, seported by her husband and soulmate who is also an artist in his own right. Alta and Andre cherishes their connection with nature through their work and feels that the artistic exchange between the land and the artist opens up many opportunities.

Alta and Andre now live and works in Kalbarri, surrounded by the sea and the Kalbarri National Park.
