‘Dreamtime Apparition’ transports viewers to a haunting seascape where the ethereal meets the macabre. A ghostly face emerges from the waves, merging with the haunting silhouettes of corpses that linger beneath the surface. This work evokes a sense of mystery and introspection, exploring themes of loss, memory, and the transient nature of life. With its gentle colours and surreal imagery, this painting invites the viewer to delve into the depths of the subconscious, where dreams and reality intertwine.

Alvina was born, lives and works in the Gippsland area. She is a professional artist and educator. She draws inspiration from her everyday experiences and surroundings to create artwork using a variety of mediums, most often acrylic and mixed media paintings. Her work uses colour and texture, figures and faces to capture moments and tell stories about life's existence and environments. She is currently working at TAFE Gippsland teaching varied subjects, including art and culture. Alvina has a Diploma of Visual Arts, Post Graduate Diploma in Education and studied Master of Visual Arts.
