Incongruent Monsters

‘Incongruent Monsters’ invites viewers into a haunting exploration of inner turmoil. This abstract
portrait captures the essence of a man wrestling with depression, his eyes serving as windows to his
soul. Swirling colours and fragmented forms create a visual cacophony, reflecting the chaos within.
The contrast between vibrant hues and shadowy depths symbolises the struggle between hope and
despair, while conveying a narrative of isolation and resilience, urging us to confront the unseen
battles many face.

Alvina was born, lives and works in the Gippsland area. She is a professional artist and educator. She draws inspiration from her everyday experiences and surroundings to create artwork using a variety of mediums, most often acrylic and mixed media paintings. Her work uses colour and texture, figures and faces to capture moments and tell stories about life's existence and environments. She is currently working at TAFE Gippsland teaching varied subjects, including art and culture. Alvina has a Diploma of Visual Arts, Post Graduate Diploma in Education and studied Master of Visual Arts.
