Artwork Description

A selection of my favourite plants inspired this artwork, some I photographed while travelling in far north Queensland, and some I painted from my mother's garden, on the mid-north coast of NSW. I love the luscious greens of these rainforest flora and wanted to bring them all together on the canvas. I imagine peeking into the dark depths to see what's hidden in the glade...

Hi! My name is Alycia and I paint in various mediums from watercolour and gouache to acrylic and oil. I particularly enjoy painting flowers and people but I mostly want to create something beautiful that others are drawn to and connect with.

In 2022, I won the Wauchope Creative Hub's Lasiandra Festival Art Prize and have since exhibited in group exhibitions at the Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery, Wauchope Art Gallery, Sunset Framing Gallery and Roto House in Port Macquarie, and Alykat Creative Gallery in Coffs Harbour. In 2024 I held my first duo exhibition at Long Point Vineyard + Art Gallery alongside artist Kay Thurston.
