Twin Blooms is a diptych boldly portraying some flowers I've been loving at the moment. It was fun just to do a purely aesthetic piece, picking colours and subjects I thought looked nice together and to trial an asymmetrical approach, the result of which I am delighted with.
I think the waratahs and proteas make a cute couple with some similarities in their appearance - both have tough, interesting petals and stamen, strong thick stems, and these large, deep green leaves.
These paintings would add a pop of colour to any room whilst remaining sleek in their design with the painted white frame - which allows some of the flowers and leaves to come out of the painting in a subtle three-dimensional effect.
