I painted this during the COVID pandemic. I wanted to depict a doctor with full PPE, with compassion in her eyes. The image on the top left is the doctor holding the oxygen mask to the patient's face before intubation to place the patient on a ventilator and the image on the bottom right is the doctor holding a patient's hand - in comfort. The subject of the painting is one of my colleagues Dr Emma West
I am an emergency physician, writer and painter.
My paintings are inspired mainly by nature; but sometimes, I can't resist painting my two sons. I also do portraits of people who inspire me in charcoal and pencil.
