Artist Bio

Artist Amanda Bragg, the overall winner of the Biannual Nifsan Gold Coast Signature Art prize for “Water Babies” in 2002 has her work included in the Gold Coast City Council Art Collection. In association with the Gold Coast Tourism Bureau, the GCCC reproduced the artwork into postcards and 20 specially framed pieces, which represent the “Nifsan Signature Collection”.

In the following year Amanda was one of the few Australian Artists nominated to participate in the Biennale Internationale Del’Art Contemporanea organized by the World Bank and UNESCO in collaboration with the Italian Ministry for foreign Affairs in Florence, Italy 2003.

Artists were selected in the Biennale by an international committee of critics on the basis of Creativity and professionalism, and is the world’s most comprehensive exhibition of contemporary art, representing 891 Artists from 72 countries. To help with the registration and travel costs Amanda received funding assistance through the RADF Fund.

After her successful solo Exhibition in Brisbane in 1996, Amanda completing many commissions throughout Australia and overseas, including 10 paintings for the one company in Japan. Amanda designed and illustrated the Sony Play station game “California Surfing” which was distributed throughout Europe, and has written and illustrated children’s picture books while raising three children.

Time has not diminished the artistic passion that began at the age of 13 drawing a weekly comic strip for a Sunday newspaper which led to a full page article in “People” Magazine and a segment on a children’s television program.
Amanda works with Acrylics and is represented in many private and corporate collections in Australia and overseas. She has an original style that exudes optimism. It will delight you with its wonderful precision and detail, and its instinctive sense of colour and composition.
