Fathers and Sons by Amanda Cameron - One of my 'Summer Series' of paintings and is an investigation into the interaction and connection between perspective, realism and colour. Amanda’s work is focused on the quest for finding refuge, quietness and escapism. Some [paintings] focus on the lone swimmer, the few minutes of introspection when submerged in the warm quiet of the water, and others investigate the interaction of people within various aspects of the landscape. This piece focuses on the relationships between fathers and sons within a simplified beach landscape. 'People watching' is one of my favourite pastimes.
