Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Halcyon Days by Amanda Cameron - is one of a new series called 'Salt Water'. While still exploring the interaction and connection between water, light and form, this series also analyses the sense of disquiet and movement of the waves when swimming in deep ocean water. At the same time, the main focus is the quest for refuge, quietness and escapism. These paintings juxtapose the lone swimmer and a few minutes of introspection when alone in deep water against the fear of the unknown. The constant struggle between hyper-realism and having a painterly quality to my work is a conflict I always try to balance; therefore, thick paint and evident brush strokes are present when viewed up close. This piece is painted in professional oil paints on a museum-quality canvas and finished with edges painted, varnished for protection and can be framed in a quality oak floating box frame upon request. It comes ready to hang and includes a certificate of authenticity.
