Artwork Description

'The Hero'. So becomes the name of any Hamar tribesman who kills his enemy from a neighbouring tribe. The hundreds of deep gouges that pattern his chest ceremoniously signify the ending of another man's life - perhaps simply only over a stolen goat, perhaps for some offensive words exchanged. (Ethiopia)

- If you love this image but the size doesn't suit, let me know and we can look at possible size options.
- To save you time and effort, I'm also happy to arrange standard, modern framing so its ready to hang straight on your wall!

Artist Bio

Amanda Leckie is a Melbourne based travel photographer, who spends most of her moments searching for imagery across the Asian and African continents. With a number of features in publications and commendations awarded for her portraiture work, she strives to represent the alternate struggles and resilience found in the unchartered territories of the world.
