Amanda is Sydney based, studied graphic design, fine arts and established herself as a freelance artist since 1980, however, has been painting her whole life.
For years she pushed her boundaries in colour and brought a graphic design feel to her work. Amanda was regularly commissioned to produce works, for both a business and a personal client base.
Amanda never felt truly immersed and content with where she was trying to go with her more structured type paintings.
She therefore, stepped away from painting for a few years, to let go of the graphic design influence and has now moved towards a more fluid and relaxed brush stroke.
Being raised in the country as a young child, Amanda always felt connected to the Australian outback. Amandaโs recent acrylic paintings of Australian birds, has set her on a path of being truly attached to her art.
Her love of travelling around Australia, a few times with her husband, camping, has allowed her to experience the personalities of her subjects and to embrace the play of light and colour of the Australian outback.
Amanda's dog portrait commissions has been a very enjoyable experience and one she continues to explore.
