Artwork Description

The shapes and colours on these eucalyptus were the inspiration to paint this piece. The flowers were well gone, each tendril left blew away in the wind when I picked this small branch off the ground. What was left provided a little peek of lime green on the inside. Not evident in the final painting, as the artist, I know these little details are there. Fresh fruit and a few chosen ceramics provide the perfect combination. This piece, I believe would look amazing framed.
Currently unframed, but ready to hang so the decision is yours!
Protected with Gamblin gloss varnish to front and sides.

Artist Bio

Amanda Ogilby is a Margaret River artist known for her atmospheric and refined still life oil paintings. Her work balances a modern aesthetic with traditional techniques, showcasing a strong foundation in representational realism and a sensitivity to light, tone, and detail. Amanda’s artwork may include carefully chosen homewares, florals, and seasonal produce to create quietly evocative compositions with a sense of calm and presence.
Inspired by a creative upbringing and a return to painting later in life, Amanda now works exclusively in oils—drawn to their depth and subtlety. Her practice is both contemplative and intuitive, shaped by a deep appreciation for beauty in the everyday.
Amanda has been a finalist in the Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award (2025,2024,2023 Salon), QLD, the 2025 The Next Big Thing Art Prize, QLD and in the 2023 Unearthed Art Prize, Vic. Her still life artworks are sought after by collectors and interior enthusiasts across Australia, offering timeless additions to contemporary spaces.
