Artwork Description

Beautiful stems of leucospermum, a species of Protea were the inspiration for this still life. My neighbour grows these bushes amassed in spring flowers, which were too irresistible not to add them with some of my most precious pieces in this artwork. The result is calming, yet with a dash of colour.
The piece is sold already professionally framed, in a beautiful Raw Oak with a white facing. This accentuates the white ceramics in the artwork.
Painted on a Professional artist stretched canvas with artist grade oil paint and lovingly protected with a coat of Gamblin satin varnish.
A gorgeous piece for your living room or dining area, or anywhere you choose.
This piece was initially painted in 2019 for an art award and I have decided to release it now for sale, as the award has been postponed until mid 2021 -I have enjoyed it for far too long!

Artist Bio

Amanda Ogilby is a Margaret River artist known for her atmospheric and refined still life oil paintings. Her work balances a modern aesthetic with traditional techniques, showcasing a strong foundation in representational realism and a sensitivity to light, tone, and detail. Amanda’s artwork may include carefully chosen homewares, florals, and seasonal produce to create quietly evocative compositions with a sense of calm and presence.
Inspired by a creative upbringing and a return to painting later in life, Amanda now works exclusively in oils—drawn to their depth and subtlety. Her practice is both contemplative and intuitive, shaped by a deep appreciation for beauty in the everyday.
Amanda has been a finalist in the Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award (2025,2024,2023 Salon), QLD, the 2025 The Next Big Thing Art Prize, QLD and in the 2023 Unearthed Art Prize, Vic. Her still life artworks are sought after by collectors and interior enthusiasts across Australia, offering timeless additions to contemporary spaces.
