Born in Western Australia to an English father and Vietnamese mother, Amanda Shearsby (née Brooks) grew up in Perth before moving to Melbourne, Victoria to continue her artistic education and experiences.
With a background in painting, graphic design and tattooing, Amanda has also completed extensive studies in art history. Her work seeks to combine elements from her mixed heritage with her knowledge of design, print making and decorative arts. Her influences range from Japanese Ukiyo-e and traditional tattooing practices, to the printmaking and design of William Morris and contemporary artists such as James Jean and Yoshitaka Amano.
Amanda currently lives on Bunurong Land (Mornington), Victoria with her partner where they both draw and paint and explore the coastal countryside together.
