Artwork Description

Sunset Flower Garden - 180 x 120cm Extra Large Impressionist Abstract Flower Landscape by South Australian artist Amber Gittins. An abstract floral garden blooming with orange, yellow, aqua and blue flowers glistening in the last few rays of sunlight as the sun sets in the background.
South Australian artist Amber Gittins has a love for colour and movement in her paintings. She uses acrylics as she loves the fast drying time of acrylic paints, which helps in the creation of the natural flowing movement that give her that signature style.
Amber finds painting to be such a meditative and calming process and once painting everything else in her mind disappears. It’s just her and the artwork in front of her. A moving calmness forms across the canvas and this is an unconscious result of this meditative state that she feels. This tranquil flow is not forced, it just happens instinctively as she relaxes in the moment.
Her colour palettes are ever changing with each piece, which can also coincide with her current mood and also varies depending on the time of year and season she is in.
Nature is her constant inspiration and she loves to explore outside and take long walks in nature regularly, another form of just being free for her and learning to take life slowly.
Amber’s artworks invoke joy and calmness within the viewer and have created a modern unique addition into collectors homes worldwide.

Amber draws inspiration from the Australian landscape and its botanical forms. Amber translates elements of the natural world into abstract compositions that focus more on feeling over their representation.

Through layered colour, organic movement and considered placement, Amber aims to create paintings that bring a sense of calm, balance and natural energy into a space. Nature acts as a starting point — a reference for growth, rhythm and softness — while abstraction allows the work to remain open, personal and enduring.

Each piece is created intuitively, with attention to colour formations and harmony. Amber is drawn to how colour can influence and impact a room and how art can anchor an interior, shaping not only how a space looks, but how it feels.

Amber’s work is intended to be lived with — collected for its emotional resonance, longevity and ability to connect the beauty of the natural world with contemporary interiors.
